Okay, so, I don't write critiques very often because I have a bad tendency to point out the bad things without commenting about the good, no matter how much I love and adore the picture. But you're one of my best friends and I watched you join.me this, so I think I'll give it a go!

First off, there are just two things that bug me a bit with this picture. They're not a big deal, but they're just my own personal pet peeves, so you don't have to pay them any mind if you don't wish.

1.) Nobuo's back left leg really bothers me. It seems likes it's stretched out a bit too far and it kinda reminds me of a MLP leg. THinking of how the cats body would twist, if that leg was so far back like that, wouldn't it be raised off the ground? I don't know for sure, and I may need to go bully my cat into this pose to see, but it doesn't look right to me. But perhaps that's just my own fault for not having a great concept of the muscle structure of a cat and therefore this first thing is completely wrong XD

2.) The back half of Nobuo's body annoys me a bit. On the front half, where the lighting is, you have all this texturing and lines that help give his pelt depth and help to set the tone, but the back half doesn't have that. The color is too flat and stands out to me compared to the rest of the stuff, given that Eva and Castail are further in the background and therefore that amount of detail wouldn't be on them. I think there would have been benefit if you had done the same stroking effect you did on Nobuo's front as you did to his back to keep things even, but instead with a darker color.

But in the overall, those are the only two things that bug me. They're not very big or anything, they're just things that stand out to me when looking at how much detail you put in your pic ^w^




Vision
My, my, my, my, my... What can I possibly and truly say about this? The colors go together so nicely and make the eyes happy, nothing clashing or startling that makes someone want to cringe (like having a bright florescent yellow somewhere in the picture to draw the eye and focus right there XD) I also like how you curved the image around Nobuo, though I'll discuss that more in the 'technique' topic
The colors are where they should be, (green grass, browns for bark, eyes are blue and it's not outside the lines like a 5yr odl coloring, ect), and the amount of detail you put into this is fantastic! I know how many hours you spent on this and I can see every minute has payed off with this absolutely splendid piece, even if it is just for a patrol in an online rp group

Originality
Though it's a dark picture that is curved around the main character looking evil/sadistic, something I have seen in a very many dark pictures and animes, you seem to have this way of detailing things and placing your characters in just a certain way that, though it looks like something you've seen before, in reality it's truly it's own new piece, you putting your own artistic spin and perspective on things, which is something I've always enjoyed.
You've got an evil cat with bright blue eyes about to go slinking away, grinning evilly, with his claws out. Now, if anyone else had done this, I would have said they were being unoriginal. But considering the character Nobuo is and what's going on in the group, as well as how things go in the group in general, it's fairly clear that this is a natural movement and action for Nobuo to do, instead of him being in a pose like that just to make him look cool. And because this is a movement he would do naturally, it's shown in how much time you took into his line art to make it look so perfect that if it wasn't for the fact that these things weren't really, I would have sworn you'd taken a picture of this scene and drawn it out yourself.

Technique
Oh, lord. Where to even begin with this? The fact that there is so much tiny detail in this picture shows your technique in general. From how you've got blades of grass that can be seen without being so noobish and big that it makes you wanna scream, to the small curl of fur coming from Nobuo's tail on the ground near the bottom of the picture. The fur markings on Nobuo and the leaves above, even the bush you remade I don't know how many times to make it look right. You can also see some of Castail's whiskers and even the frightened eyes Eva is giving to the shadows, terrified she's going to be attacked. (Either that, or terrified Nobuo is gonna attack her lmao)
Now, I wanna make a comment on the perspective you used here. As I was saying earlier, I love how it all curves upwards, and this brought back something my teacher said when I was still in school and taking art. She said the signs of a good piece of work wasn't just the effort and time put into the picture. It was how the details worked together to make your eyes roam around the page. A series of leaves pointing in one direction, a tree that stands out just a bit more than the others with branches reaching up to the sky, things that made your eye look at more than one thing on the picture, but to look at all of it. I adore that it's what you've done with this picture. Yes, the main subject is Nobuo, but with how the picture is drawn to make it look curved, the eyes instinctively follow the curve to see Eva and Castail, to see the trees, the bushes, the leaves, and then travel back to Nobuo It's absolutely remarkable and wonderful, and I have to say I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Impact
Overall, this piece is amazing in it's own right and is truly awe-inspiring to see someone of your skill level make something like this. This is probably one of your best pieces yet, and if you continue accelerating and becoming better at the rate you are now, I wouldn't be surprised to see things even better than this in the future, which are things I'm sincerely hoping to see.

First of all this is really amazing. Great job on the fur effects,eyes and shading. Also, the background is amazing. I love the details, especially on the leaves. I don't wanna sound rude and/or mean, but I don't really know why you requested a critique when this is a really detailed and perfect piece.
I just think that, where the black cat's standing, it looks a bit weird, like his paw are 'floating'. But never mind about that lol xDD
All in all, this piece gives me so much inspiration, and its amazing. Great job on this, keep up the work!
